SMU31E Description
Banner Engineering SMU31E is a photo-electric sensor designed as part of the SMU315 universal voltage series, featuring a through-beam system with opposed mode potentiometer adjustment. This sensor, functioning as an emitter alone, is housed in thermoplastic and comes pre-wired with a 6.5ft / 2m cable terminated with bare end flying leads. It supports a wide supply voltage range, accommodating 24Vac-240Vac (200Vac / 220Vac nom.) for AC and 24Vdc-240Vdc (48Vdc / 120Vdc / 220Vdc nom.) for DC. The SMU31E offers versatile mounting options with an M18 threaded mount and operates effectively within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +55°C. It boasts a high degree of protection, rated at IP67 and compliant with multiple NEMA standards including 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 12, and 13. The sensor's rectangular shape is designed for a sensing distance of up to 3m, utilizing infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 880 nm and a quick response time of 20ms / 0.02 s. It supports both Light-ON and Dark-ON operating modes.
