Turck BI4U-EM12WD-AP6X/S987 is an inductive proximity sensor belonging to the BI...-EM12 series, designed for embeddable applications. It operates with a supply voltage range of 10-30Vdc, including nominal 12Vdc and 24Vdc, and features a 4mm sensing distance. The sensor is housed in 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel with an LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) sensing face, a PP (Polypropylene) end cap, and a TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer) cable jacket, making it washdown-resistant. It comes pre-wired with a 2m / 6.5ft TPE-jacketed cable terminated with bare end flying leads. The sensor's shape is an M12 partially threaded barrel, offering a degree of protection rated at IP68 and IP69K. It has a maximum switching frequency of 3kHz / 3000Hz and can operate in ambient air temperatures ranging from -40°C to +100°C. The BI4U-EM12WD-AP6X/S987 features one digital output (10-30Vdc; PNP; 200mA max.) and has a no-load current consumption of 25mA. Its protection functions include short-circuit (pulsed), overload, and reverse polarity. The operating mode is NO (Normally Open), and it has an M12 thread size.
