Festo SDBF-FBS-1L-PU-K-0.5-N-M8 is a proximity/magneto-resistive position sensor designed for detecting positions within automation systems. This sensor is part of the SDBF series and features a square shape suitable for 1/4" slots with a 60° cable outlet that contains paint-wetting impairment substances. It is constructed with a thermoplastic housing and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) cable in black. The sensor is pre-wired with a 50cm pigtail that terminates in a 3-pin M8 A-coded male connector. It operates on a supply voltage range of 5-28Vdc, including 6Vdc, 12Vdc, and 24Vdc options. For mounting, it employs a screw-type mount compatible with dovetail slots. The sensor can operate in ambient air temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C and offers a degree of protection rated at NEMA 6. It has one digital output (PNP; 200mA) and includes protection functions against short circuits and reverse polarity. The response time from OFF to ON is 4μs (0.000004 s), and its operating mode is normally open (NO).
