RI-04QA0S-4A100-C Description
Turck RI-04QA0S-4A100-C is a compact incremental rotary encoder designed for mtr. flange mounting. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +85°C and features a solid shaft with a flat mtr. flange for magnetic sensing. This encoder is pre-wired with a radial 2m / 6.5ft cable terminated with bare end flying leads. It belongs to the Type RI-04 series and has dimensions including a 36mm casing diameter, a 1/4" shaft diameter (D1/4"), and a 12.5mm shaft length (L12.5mm). The encoder offers a degree of protection rated at IP50 and requires a 5Vdc supply voltage. It can achieve a 300kHz pulse frequency and is constructed from chromated aluminium housing, a stainless steel shaft, and a PVC cable. Communication is facilitated via an RS-422 protocol, and it features 1 x digital output (RS422 output with inverting signal; 5Vdc). Protection functions include short-circuit, magnetic field proof, and reverse polarity. The encoder supports a rotational speed up to 12000rpm (mechanical limit), a moment of inertia of 0.2 x 10-6kg.m2, and offers a resolution of 100ppr (pulses/revolution). Its current consumption is 40mA (no load), with a maximum radial load of 40 N and a maximum axial load of 20 N.
