Turck RI-02C4S3-2D500-C is an incremental rotary encoder designed for flange mounting with a spring element. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +85°C and features a blind hollow shaft flange with spring element for magnetic sensing. This encoder is pre-wired with a radial 2m / 6.5ft cord with bare end flying leads, belonging to the Type RI-02 series. It has a compact 24mm casing diameter and offers a degree of protection rated at IP50. The supply voltage requirement ranges from 5Vdc to 24Vdc, supporting 6Vdc, 12Vdc, and 24Vdc, with a maximum pulse frequency of 160kHz. Constructed with an aluminium housing and a brass shaft, it has a 4mm hollow shaft bore. The encoder provides one digital output (push-pull with inverting signal; 5Vdc-24Vdc), and includes protection functions against short-circuit, magnetic field interference, and reverse polarity. It can handle a rotational speed up to 12000rpm, with a moment of inertia of 0.1 x 10-6kg.m2, and offers a resolution of 500ppr (pulses/revolution). The current consumption is 50mA with no load, and it can withstand a maximum radial load of 10 N and a maximum axial load of 20 N.
