BC5-S18-Y1X Description
Turck BC5-S18-Y1X is a sensor designed for proximity detection with capacitive functionality, belonging to the BC...-S18 series. This intrinsically-safe capacitive proximity sensor/switch is ATEX compliant and designed for embedment. It operates with a supply voltage of 8.2Vdc. The housing and sensing face are made from PA12-GF30, a glass fiber reinforced Polyamide, and it features a PVC cable jacket. It connects via a pre-wired 2m / 6.5ft cable that terminates with bare end flying leads. The sensor has an M18 partially threaded barrel shape, offers a degree of protection rated at IP67, and can operate within an ambient air temperature range of -25°C to +70°C. It has a maximum switching frequency of 100Hz, a digital output of 1 x 8.2Vdc (NAMUR), a sensing distance of 5mm, and an M18 thread size.
