SM31RE Description

Banner Engineering SM31RE, part of the SM312 series, is a photo-electric sensor designed with a through-beam system and opposed mode potentiometer adjustment. This sensor features a thermoplastic housing with an acrylic lens and is pre-wired with a 6.5ft / 2m cable that terminates with bare end flying leads. It operates on a supply voltage of 10Vdc-30Vdc, with 12Vdc and 24Vdc as nominal values. The SM31RE is equipped for M18 threaded mount installation and can function within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +70°C. It boasts a degree of protection rated at IP67, NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, and 12, ensuring its durability in various environmental conditions. The sensor has a rectangular shape, includes 1 x digital output (PNP/NPN transistor), and offers a sensing distance of up to 3m. It utilizes infrared (IR) light and has a rapid response time of 1ms / 0.001 s, with operating modes that include Light-ON and Dark-ON.
