SM312FB Description
Banner Engineering SM312FB is a photo-electric fiber optic sensor within the SM312 series, featuring a potentiometer adjustment and a mounting foot on the housing front/bottom, designed as a replacement for SM312FK1 for glass fiber applications. This sensor is housed in thermoplastic with glass fiber, ensuring durability and compatibility with various industrial environments. It comes pre-wired with a 6.5ft / 2m cable that terminates with bare end flying leads for easy installation. The SM312FB operates on a supply voltage range of 10Vdc to 30Vdc, with nominal voltages of 12Vdc and 24Vdc, and can be mounted using an M18 threaded mount. It is designed to operate within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +70°C and boasts a high degree of protection, rated at IP67 and compliant with multiple NEMA standards including 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, and 12, making it suitable for a wide range of environmental conditions. The sensor features a rectangular shape, one digital output (PNP/NPN transistor), and operates with infrared light at a wavelength of 880 nm. It offers a quick response time of 1ms / 0.001 s and supports both Light-ON and Dark-ON operating modes.
