Turck RI-12I15E-4A100-H1181 is a compact incremental rotary encoder designed for versatile applications, featuring a 63mm flex mount (slotted) flange mounting for easy installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -40 to +85°C and incorporates a through hollow shaft flange with slotted flex mount for optical sensing. This encoder is pre-equipped with a radial 8-pin M12 Eurofast QD male connector, falling under the Type RI-12 series. It has a 2" casing diameter and offers an IP65 degree of protection, ensuring durability in various environments. The supply voltage requirement is 5Vdc, and it supports a 300kHz pulse frequency. Constructed from die-cast metal housing with stainless steel components including the shaft, disc table, and packing ring, it ensures robustness. Communication is facilitated via an RS-422 protocol, and it features a 15mm hollow shaft bore. The encoder provides 1 x digital output (RS422 output with inverting signal; 5Vdc) and includes protection functions against short-circuit, bearing lock, magnetic fields, and reverse polarity. It can handle a rotational speed up to 12000rpm (mechanical limit), with a moment of inertia of 6 x 10-6kg.m2 and a resolution of 100ppr (pulses/revolution). The current consumption is 40mA (no load), and it can withstand a maximum radial load of 80 N and a maximum axial load of 40 N.
