Turck RI-10S10C-4B4096-10MIL/N24/N40 is a compact incremental rotary encoder designed for 58mm clamping flange mounting. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -40 to +85°C and features a solid shaft with a clamping flange, optical sensing, a special pin configuration, and waveform. This encoder is pre-equipped with a radial 10-pin MS MIL-Spec male connector. It falls under the Type RI-10 series and has dimensions including a 2" casing diameter, a 10mm shaft diameter, and a 20mm shaft length. It offers an IP67 degree of protection and requires a supply voltage of 5Vdc-30Vdc, supporting 6Vdc, 12Vdc, and 24Vdc. The encoder can handle a maximum pulse frequency of 300kHz, equivalent to 4395rpm, and is constructed from die-cast metal housing with stainless steel shaft, disc table, and packing ring. It utilizes the RS-422 communication protocol and has one digital output that is RS422 pulse output and TTL compatible, supporting 5Vdc-30Vdc. The encoder includes protection functions against short-circuit, bearing lock, magnetic fields, and reverse polarity. It can achieve a rotational speed of up to 6000rpm, has a moment of inertia of 1.8 x 10-6kg.m2, and offers a resolution of 4096ppr. The current consumption is 40mA with no load, and it can withstand a maximum radial load of 80 N and a maximum axial load of 40 N.
