Panasonic SF4D-A28-01 is a sensor array designed for compact and robust arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features, achieving safety levels of PL e / SIL3. It incorporates a light curtain sensor with an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability compatible with 8-core / 12-core cables, and an interlock function that supports both manual and auto reset. An override function is available when using a 12-core cable. The housing is made of aluminium, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower caps. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and is rated with a degree of protection of IP67. The net height, indicating the protective height, is 1110 mm. For outputs, it features 2 x digital outputs (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, and 1 x digital output (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, and from 80cm to 15m, or 2.625 to 49.213 feet, in long mode. Current consumption is rated at 100mA / 0.1 A for the emitter and 140mA / 0.14 A for the receiver. The light emitted is infrared (IR) with a wavelength of 850 nm, and it can detect objects as small as 45mm or 1.772 inches.
